Job Description

Direct Hire with  a competitive salary and benefit package. This company is a provider of premier union scaffolding,painting, insulation, shoring, lead and asbestos abatement, fireproofing, and facilities maintenance services in support of capital projects, maintenance and turnarounds. 




Position Summary:



This position directs and oversees all operations of the companies estimating function. He/She will help develop policies and procedures related to the bid process, and has final approval over bids and proposals. Schedules estimating staff to ensure that bids are created in a timely and accurate manner.  Works independently. Manages and Develops the Estimating Team.





Primary Duties:



  • Directs and oversees all operations of the BIS estimating function.



  • Helps Develop policies and procedures related to the bid process, and has approval over all bids and proposals.



  • Schedules estimating staff to ensure that bids are created in a timely manner.



  • May personally develop estimates for large or complex projects.



  • Approves data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.



  • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.



  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.



  • Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.



  • Ensures compliance with the centralized cost estimating database and following formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.



Job Requirements



Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • College degree (preferred) or at least 7 years direct field industry experience

  • Strong computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access.



  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.



  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions



  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.



  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required



  • Possesses great time management skills



  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skill



  • Experience managing others
